This group of cinder cones is located west of Springerville, just north of AZ Hwy 263. The largest is Antelope Mountain. The land rises from North to south, with the higher elevations of the White Mountains in the background, shrouded in clouds.

I have been on Antelope Mountain numerous times. Only one time did I drive up the somewhat treacherous dirt road. After that trip I preferred to travel up on foot. The view from atop Antelope is beautiful: Pine forests to the south, and the Springervill “Round Valley” dotted with cinder cones to the north.
