Hotel room in a cave

In Puglia our first stop was in Matera. The hotel consisted of a series of caves, one guest room per cave. The reception and the breakfast room were also in caves. It was fun for two nights but we agreed that the dim lighting and the uneven floors made it uncomfortable for the long term. Actually, people lived in these caves until the 1950’s.
