Six (6) adventurous MAPS members gave it their best on Saturday, February 16 … We chased the Eagles at Lock & Dam 14 on the Mississippi River and came up with no birds! However, we took the opportunity to venture around the area with the help of a local guide and came up with a few stories and a gallery of our images. We traveled back across to Illinois and tried a few spots on the Rock River which of course we were guaranteed to find eagles. If we allow ourselves to exaggerate, we saw at least 4 eagles! However we did engage and enjoy several local folks who helped make our day an adventure, if only to practice our photography on ring-billed gulls.
