January 2013 Photo Outing – Arboretum Winter Photo Challenge

Twelve hearty souls joined the MAPS Outing Committee for a beautiful Sunday sunrise shoot at the Morton Arboretum on January 20th. The weather was a balmy 12 degrees at the start of the day and rose to a blistering 19 degrees around 10:30 in the morning. The morning sky was clear with nay a cloud in the sky. We started our adventure at Meadow Lake by the visitor center for our sunrise shoot. We proceeded to Big Rock parking lot to see what we could find. We shot macro, trail, and forest scenes. There was something for everyone. We moved to Lake Marmo for the final leg of our adventure. The clouds came out in streaks and provided the group with a beautiful backdrop to our images.

The group then headed to the East Side visitor center for warmth, friendship, warm liquids and food. A good day was had by all.

The following is a gallery of member images captured on this cold and creative morning.
