May 17, 2014 – Johnson’s Mound Forest Preserve – Elburn, IL

What a beautiful day for photography we had at Johnson’s Mound! Low 50s, mostly sunny, little wind and a forest floor just carpeted with all varieties of wildflowers. Yesterday’s rain left plenty of water drops making the array of anemones, phlox, geranium, trillium, violets, bluebells and mayapples look even more spectacular. It was a tough climb to the top of the mound, but those who made it were delighted with hillsides of blooming mayapples. It was nice to see everyone at Lumes afterwards for brunch.
