August 9, 2015 – Chicago Botanic Garden
Our morning outing to Chicago Botanical Garden exceeded our expectations given the gloomy skies we woke up to. There was no wind and the diffused light was just right for photographing the gardens and water features. After wandering through the water lily ponds, we congregated at the walled English Garden. Tim Rex provided us with information on hummingbird behavior, what to anticipate with their feeding and flying habits, and how to capture a great image of these elusive birds. The hummingbirds cooperated by flying in to let us know they were there. We then moved on to our favorite locations for shooting and congregated at the Garden View Restaurant for brunch at 11:00 AM.
