Twenty-five MAPS photographers met at Thornhill in the Arbor Room the last Saturday in February to participate in the Still Life II Outing. Lights and props filled the tables alongside tripods and eager members preparing and re-arranging their displays. The room was very, very quiet…
The two hour shooting session was a continuance of the indoor photography focus using both natural and artificial light. Using macro lenses for close-ups members were treated their choice of crystals, gem stones and cut rock provided by Atala Dorothy Toy, fellow MAPS member and President of Crystal Life Technology, Inc. in Geneva. A big THANK YOU to Atala! We all had a “gem “of a time. And thank you to the Arboretum staff for helping us get set up comfortably. And much appreciation goes out to the Outings team for helping set up and take down. Go Team!
After the event, a dozen of us made our way over to the Gingko Cafe at the Visitors’ Center for a delicious lunch and engaging conversation. Truly, a rich, photo filled winter Saturday.
