Join MAPS for a Picnic and Photo Outing at beautiful Herrick Lake, a 887-acre forest preserve, one of the Forest Preserve District’s most popular. Herrick Lake is home to an impressive variety of wildlife, including more than 254 types of year-round and migrating wildlife and 470 different types of plants. The preserve has mature upland woods, adjacent fields of European grasses, an immature upland woods, pothole marshes, streams, and the Herrick Marsh itself.
Please bring your favorite picnic dish to share. MAPS will be providing chicken and pop. There will also be door prizes, fun conversation, and even a potential game to play. Please let us know on the survey if you would like to bring a friend. See the map for parking and the East Shelter. There is also a rest station nearby. Entrance to Herrick Lake is located on Butterfield Rd. (56) less than 2 miles west of Naperville Rd.
