MAPS Women’s Photography Group

About This Group

The Women’s Group within MAPS offers a myriad of benefits. It provides a supportive and empowering space for female photographers to connect, share experiences, and learn from one another. It fosters a sense of community and camaraderie, encouraging women to feel more comfortable and confident in expressing their creativity and exploring their passion for photography. The Women’s Group serves as a platform for addressing unique challenges and perspectives faced by female photographers, such as navigating the photography world, breaking stereotypes, and promoting gender equality in a traditionally male-dominated field. By promoting inclusivity and diversity, The Women’s Group enriches the overall dynamics of MAPS, fostering a more inclusive and vibrant creative environment for all members to thrive.

When are Meetings?

The Women’s Group meets once per month via Zoom at 7:00 pm CST on the third Monday of each month, except December when we take a break. The Zoom meetings accommodate members who live out of the region and out of the state. Men are always invited to join The Women’s Group meetings. The Women’s Group is supported by an Advisory Committee that consists of approximately 5 people. The Advisory Committee discusses subjects such as topics to discuss during the monthly Zoom meeting, photographic themes for the monthly meetings and extraneous activities.
