Beginner Framing (On a Budget)
Jan 2025
This workshop will take you step-by-step through the amateur framing process. Mary Mehl and Robert E. Potter III will show you what materials you’ll need and the fairly simple steps to get your print into a frame and ready for you to hang on your wall or to put into an exhibit.
You can take part in this workshop and frame your own print (or any piece of paper), or you can simply be an onlooker to the framing steps.
What to Bring:
If you choose to frame a print, please bring the following items to the workshop:
• Your print (or any piece of paper if you don’t have a print handy)
• A frame – preferably a wooden frame with a glass front
• A matte to fit your frame with an opening that fits your image
• A clean rag
• Tight gloves if you have a pair
Difficulty level: Beginners & intermediate will benefit from this workshop. Class size: Limited so sign up early.
You will be able to leave the workshop with a framed image!
Please note: This workshop will not be replicating professional framing processes. You will be shown the process the instructors use to get an image framed using items they have at home or can easily find at a craft store.
