Critiquing Images to Build Confidence

Want to feel more confident about your photography—and create images you’re proud to share or exhibit? A supportive critique process is one of the fastest ways to grow. In this workshop we’ll learn how to read a photograph by looking at:

  • Subject (what the image is about)
  • Form (composition, light, color)
  • Content (meaning/story)

You’ll practice giving and receiving constructive, specific feedback—noticing both strengths and opportunities for improvement. We’ll talk through technical choices (exposure, focus) and artistic decisions (crop, mood, visual intent), all in a friendly, encouraging environment. Weather permitting, we may also make a few images together at the Arboretum to apply what we’re learning.
