Mindful Still Life

Our very own Christine Foley will share her creative ability with you, and help you make a mindful still life photograph. Please see the detailed information below.

In this hands-on workshop, you will learn to create mindful still life images. We will start with a slide presentation and then a tethered demonstration, in which you will learn about constant lighting, how to see, shape, and control the light. Simple composition techniques for stronger still-life images will be presented. The majority of the time, you will set up and photograph your own mindful still life.
Set-ups Provided: Six constant light sources with soft boxes and light stands, for six tabletop set ups- plus multiple textured background and a few bounce cards
What to bring to the Workshop :
- Camera – that can be set to manual mode and ability to shoot in Raw Mode (L Bracket optional)
- Lens in the approx. 50 to 120mm range, 50mm, or 80mm- etc
- Tripod
- Shutter release
- A bounce card (reflector white foamcore)
- A flag-card (Black foamcore)
- A few items that have meaning to you that you can arrange and photograph
- LED flashlight if you want to try Light painting
If you want to create your own, add all of the above plus your own lighting setup (please constant lighting only-no flash for this workshop.)
