Ellen Green & Mark Hanna – Attracting Birds from Backyards to Preserves

Part 1- Attracting Backyard Birds – presented by Ellen Green from Wild Birds Unlimited – Joliet (photographic images by MAPS member Maura Carlisle)
Photographing birds in your backyard is fun and easy. By creating an area that is attractive to birds, you can enjoy taking photos of the birds who visit your yard.  Learn how to set up a bird feeding station with feeders and perches and enhance the area with water features and native plants. Learn what birds you might attract to your feeder set-up and how to manage local critters and predators. You can capture great images all from the comfort of your own home and backyard, while relaxing and enjoying the birds and wildlife that visit.

Part 2 – Environmental Photography – presented by MAPS member Mark Hanna
Enjoy Mark’s experiences in capturing images of both birds and wildlife from his backyard to his nearby preserve, highlighting how he attracts wildlife and pushes his equipment to its creative limits.
