A big thank you to Atala Dorothy Toy for providing a “gem” of an opportunity to MAPS members. The specimens she shared with us during this event were incredible in color, beauty and texture. Atala introduced each stone, giving us the opportunity to appreciate their geological history and significance. We were all inspired to capture the essence and uniqueness of each specimen. We also enjoyed the comradery of learning from each other, observing the techniques and equipment being used by other participants and feeling free to ask questions. We each walked away feeling we had, once again, experienced a special event. And lunch at the Ginkgo Café was delicious, as always!
